High Speed Rail
Harry Davis sees the future of transportation – and it is the nationwide plan to implement the “High Speed Rail” system. Instead of relying on tired, old, dirty, and costly modes of mass transit, Harry Davis wants to push to get Rochester ahead of the curve. The “High Speed Rail” is not only efficient and eco-friendly, it would also make transportation all over New York state available to everyone – no longer just to those of us who own cars, or those of us who want to spend the majority of a day sitting on a bus.
Economic growth and job creation historically follow transit development. $8 billion in federal stimulus money is being doled out this summer for high speed rail. After this year, $1 billion of federa money will be spent annually for High Speed rail. California and Florida hold great weight to get much of this money. Davis will work hard to make sure Rochester which sits on the Albany-Buffalo corridor receives its fair share of this money.
